You need a graphic designer with common sense.

I am a seasoned crafter of word and image serving authors, non-profits and entrepreneurs.

Who is SeeWhy?

My name is Christy Y. Jenkins. I am a non-profit executive and creative professional with three young people who call me “Mom.” The moniker “SeeWhy” is inspired by my initials “C.Y.”

Though I am based in Richmond, Virginia, I serve clients from Washington, D.C. to San Francisco and everywhere in between.

A Sampling of My Work

The SeeWhy Story

SeeWhy DesignWorks was conceived in 2001, inspired by my desire to continue creative work when I left the magazine advertising industry for the non-profit sector, marriage, and motherhood. SeeWhy has served small businesses, schools, churches, charities, and other creatives continuously for more than two decades.

My broad corpus of work encompasses the gamut of print and digital collateral, including business cards, brochures, posters, postcards, newsletters, display ads, annual reports, fundraising solicitations, email, social media campaigns, and websites. I have also shepherded several authors through the self-publishing production process, including developmental and copy editing, cover design, layout, uploading, and distribution.

I especially enjoy logo design, branding, and budget-conscious problem-solving for non-profits, start-ups, and budding entrepreneurs. Every organization deserves to look its best, and I love using my skills to elevate my clients’ visual and verbal messaging.

My Creative Approach

I won’t impose a personal “signature style.” I strive to infuse my work with my clients’ personalities and preferences as we collaborate to bring your concept into being.

I won’t try to fix what isn’t broken. My background in advertising has taught me how to respect a client’s existing brand parameters to cultivate consistency.

The editor in me is always working on your behalf. With a foundation in journalism, I understand that how the story reads is just as important as how the story looks.

My hourly rate is fair and affordable. Working with non-profits has given me a special appreciation for being budget-minded; decent design shouldn’t be a luxury.
